Barbershops

Barbershops are alive and well in Puerto Vallarta in Old Town. You don’t really need to walk far to find a barber waiting for the next customer. Most are small and you could easily walk by one if you weren’t paying attention.

My partner, Victor, shaves his head once a week so we have hunted out a favorite which is right across from the Farmacia Guadalaraja and not far from our condo. It’s called El Galletas which according to google translate means the cookies….uh ok then. Maybe thats wrong I don’t know, regardless the barbers are great and we have been many times. The address is Insurgentes 272 Col Emiliano Zapata.

Now, I have gone to the barber here in Calgary and have a favorite over in the Marda Loop area. The owner is great and a cut is $20. In PV, I pay 70 pesos (approx $6 Canadian)! That is a huge discount from my regular cut here up north and leaves me enough to walk next door, order 3 tacos, a cerveza and STILL have enough money for happy hour on the way home. I love Mexico 🙂
