One afternoon I decided to head down to Los Muertos beach, order a cocktail and people watch. But instead of hitting my normal watering hole I decided to try something new. So once I hit the pier I turned left to see what caught my eye. Let’s see, I thought, it would be nice to watch the guys playing volleyball but there’s no place to order a drink. Ok, there’s La Palapa, El Dorado, San Marino….oh wait, I’ve never been to Si Senor so I’m going to give it a try.
Si Senor has two locations, one on Los Muertos beach where I had stopped and another in El Centro a few blocks inland from the malecon. Both are very different as the one on the malecon is a beach club, perfect for watching scantily clad beautiful people walking by! What better way to spend an afternoon I ask?
After being greeted by a beautiful host and hostess, I enter and take up roost at the long bar table directly in front of the boardwalk. You do have the option of sitting on the sand but I prefer this location for an afternoon cocktail. My mango daiquiri is perfect and has a generous portion of rum, just the way I like it. I mean, if you can’t taste the rum what’s the point!? After a few sips, the alcohol hits my senses and relaxes me. It relaxes me so much I start getting friendly with the bathing suit beauties walking by. Guess it’s time for some food at this point!
Ok, for afternoon beach side munchies you want something fresh and easy to eat. While guacamole isn’t a light dish and not the best for the beach body, I thought what the heck and ordered it anyway. To my surprise the server brought over a table, mortar and pestle, a plate of tomatoes, jalapenos and onions. Wow, he’s going to make the guacamole right here! How exciting! Or maybe it was exciting because I was on my second daiquiri. Whichever the case, I snapped some pictures to capture this highlight of my lazy afternoon.
So, here I sat with my perfect drink, some freshly made guacamole with salsa and chips, cool jazzy vibes and great candy for my eyes. Just another perfect afternoon in beautiful Puerto Vallarta!
